A highlight of our guided tour will be a visit from Donner Party member Margaret Breen, portrayed by Doris Dwyer. She will help separate the enduring myths of this pioneer tragedy from the surviving historical record. Her story will come to life as we visit Alder Creek, the site of the Donner Camp, and Donner Memorial State Park with its fascinating new visitor center. Even if these sites are familiar to you, you will gain new insight with our historical perspective. Tour includes picnic lunch. Time permitting, we will stop in Truckee for a downtown visit.
