The Building Committee is making progress in finding a
replacement building for OLLI having narrowed it down to 4 locations to consider
further. Our Brokers, OLLI members Sue
Smith and Mark Glenn, and UNR Property Manager Troy Miller are negotiating to get us the best facility and improvements. When an agreement is reached, we will let
members know through OLLIRenoNews, as well as schedule member meetings so we
can share details with you. Though we
are assuming everything is on course, the escrow on the Nelson Building does
not close until May 15th and then all will be final.
This month you will receive a letter from OLLI requesting a member financial donation. When OLLI was established and accepted the endowments from Osher, it was agreed that OLLI would fund raise annually to help support itself. This year is important as OLLI is facing expenses related to moving to a new building and adapting our technology to it; in the unlikely event OLLI does not move, we would be need to fix up and improve the Nelson Building.
